S/O to mlantonis and everyone in the comments section. I passed mine today. Just want to give tips to everyone starting from here. Go through till you get to the end and make sure you understand every single thing. Some of the questions are repeated but there are newer ones as well(which is just MS changing the wording to confuse you). If you understand every question here, then you will pass. Understand not memorize.

The correct answer in my opinion is C "Assign tags to the virtual machines". If all resources are in a single Resource Group, Management Groups wont help, neither modifying the VMs settings. Creating more Resource Groups would be the better option, but it would be more cumbersome, and out of the scope of this question.

Correct Answer is C . By assigning tags to the virtual machines, you can easily filter and group them based on the department they belong to. This allows for efficient resource management and organization. Creating Azure Management Groups or resource groups (options A and B) would provide higher-level organization but do not directly associate individual VMs with specific departments. Modifying the settings of the virtual machines (option D) would not be the most practical way to associate them with departments.

The question is about "associating", not designating access, management permissions, or anything like that. That's why "adding tags" is enough and perfecly appropriate.

Tagging will allow to identify resources by department. But AFAIK, grouping by resource groupe would allow more security with IAM, no?

The correct approach to associate each VM with its respective department without restructuring the resource groups is to use Azure Tags. Azure Tags allow you to associate metadata with resources to categorize and organize them based on your organization's needs.

Explanation: A. Create Azure Management Groups for each department. This would not be the correct approach for the given scenario. Azure Management Groups are designed to manage access, policies, and compliance across multiple Azure subscriptions. B. Create a resource group for each department. This approach would involve restructuring the resources, and you'd have to move VMs between resource groups. It's a more disruptive approach than simply tagging the VMs. C. Assign tags to the virtual machines. This is the correct approach. Tags allow you to categorize resources without changing their actual configuration or moving them between resource groups. D. Modify the settings of the virtual machines. This is too vague and doesn't specify which settings would be changed. Simply modifying VM settings wouldn't inherently associate a VM with a department.

Question keyword "an Azure subscription". Azure Management Group (A) for case many Azure subscriptions, therefore exclude B. Question keyword "a resource group", what named "RG1", therore solution for many resource groups is not rationle, exclude B. Solution D is overhead operation and is not necessary. In the end, has only one remain solution, C, it is rationale, Assign tags to VM, tag VM by according department code.

The correct answer is C. Assign tags to the virtual machines. Tags are labels that you can apply to Azure resources. You can use tags to organize your resources, track your costs, and manage your billing. To associate each VM with its respective department, you can create a tag for each department and then assign that tag to the VMs in that department. For example, you could create a tag named "Department" and then assign the value "Sales" to the VMs in the Sales department. You can then use tags to filter your resources in the Azure portal, or to generate reports on your resource usage.

Azure tagging is an excellent feature from Microsoft that was introduced recently that can help you to logically group your Azure resources and help you to track your resources. It also helps to automate the deployments of the resources and another important feature is this feature helps to provide the visibility of the resource costs that they are liable for.

Assigning tags to Azure resources, such as virtual machines, is a flexible way to organize and categorize resources based on custom metadata. Tags consist of name-value pairs that you can assign to resources, and they can be used for various purposes, including cost management, resource grouping, and access control. By assigning tags to the virtual machines, you can easily identify and filter the VMs based on the department they belong to. This provides a convenient way to organize and manage resources within the company's Azure subscription

C. Assign tags to the virtual machines. By assigning tags, you can organize resources in a way that makes sense for your organization, which will allow you to easily filter and view resources based on criteria such as department, environment, or cost center. In this case, you can create a tag called "Department" and assign the appropriate value to each VM.

I keep hitting a gateway error, not sure what the issue is. Just to finish off what I was writing the other day: Remember that the Case study section represents a big chunk of the exam - 6 out of 50 questions (although I don't know how points are awarded). Although no substitute for learning the material, I memorized the answers to the Case studies on the morning of the exam. There are only 21 or so questions/answers to remember and considering a quarter of the them were in the exam. The case studies are organised into tabs on the screen and it's a lot of info to look through given the time available during the exam. I think I found every question from the exam here.

Thats the signal part, missing the decision part. Its selecting the group in the user part and then choose to do "something", when its met, like enforce MFA. The last part is missing. So NO is the answer.
