Should be A, Boot diagnostics doesn't support premium storage accounts or zone redundant storage accounts. If either of these are used for boot diagnostics users will receive an StorageAccountTypeNotSupported error when starting the VM.

B. The link provided states "Because the managed accounts are created on either Standard LRS or Standard ZRS, customers will be charged at $0.05/GB per month for the size of their diagnostic data blobs only".

I stand corrected. I just labbed this and was unable to use ZRS but I was able to use GRS so the Answer is B.

The Boot diagnostics feature does not support premium storage account or Zone Redundant Storage Account Types. If you use the premium storage account for Boot diagnostics, you might receive the StorageAccountTypeNotSupported error when you start the VM.

A that's correct. Boot diagnostics does not support premium storage accounts or zone-redundant storage accounts. You should use a standard storage account that is either a General-purpose v1 (GPv1) or General-purpose v2 (GPv2) for boot diagnostics. Here is the summary of the types of storage accounts you should use: Standard General-purpose v2 (GPv2): Recommended for most scenarios, including boot diagnostics. Standard General-purpose v1 (GPv1): Also supports boot diagnostics, but it is less common to use compared to GPv2. Premium and zone-redundant storage accounts are not supported for boot diagnostics. Therefore, make sure to choose a standard storage account.

Multiple MS documents have the following Statements: "" Important Boot diagnostics doesn't support premium storage accounts or zone-redundant storage accounts. When either premium or zone-redundant storage accounts are used for boot diagnostics, users receive a StorageAccountTypeNotSupported error upon starting their virtual machine (VM)."" Therefore A (Storage1) is the only possible option left.

Should be A, The Azure Startup Diagnostics feature requires a standard storage account. Premium storage accounts (such as storage3 and storage4) are not supported. In addition, zone redundancy (as in storage2) is also not supported for boot diagnostics. Therefore, storage1, which is a standard storage account with geo-redundant storage (GRS), is the most suitable option for storing the boot diagnostic logs and snapshots.

Based on this: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/azure/virtual-machines/boot-diagnostics he Boot diagnostics feature does not support premium storage account or Zone Redundant Storage Account Types. If you use the premium storage account for Boot diagnostics, you might receive the StorageAccountTypeNotSupported error when you start the VM. Even documented in GitHub: https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs/issues/63225 It has to be A!

Limitations: Boot diagnostics doesn't support premium storage accounts or zone redundant storage accounts. If either of these are used for boot diagnostics users receive an StorageAccountTypeNotSupported error when starting the VM It can't be C and D because the premium is not supported. It can't be B because Zone-redundant storage is not supported. It is A. Link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/common/storage-redundancy#redundancy-in-the-primary-region

Boot Diagnostic can use managed accounts, They are created on either Standard LRS or Standard ZRS . Standard ZRS = Answer B https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/boot-diagnostics#boot-diagnostics-storage-accountThe boot diagnostics data blobs (which comprise of logs and snapshot images) are stored in a managed storage account. Customers will be charged only on used GiBs by the blobs, not on the disk's provisioned size. The snapshot meters will be used for billing of the managed storage account. Because the managed accounts are created on either Standard LRS or Standard ZRS, customers will be charged at $0.05/GB per month for the size of their diagnostic data blobs only. For more information on this pricing, see Managed disks pricing. Customers see this charge tied to their VM resource URI.
